The Difference Between an LinkedIn Headshot and an Actors Headshot

Yesterday I photographed a young actor for her headshot, before that I was photographing a professional for their LinkedIn profile.
Both straight headshots - similar set up but such a different approach... An actor’s headshot is usually an extreme close-up, filling the frame. It’s all about the eyes, the windows to your soul, and it has to capture not just who you are, but who you could be. Casting directors want to see possibility.
A business headshot, on the other hand, has a different goal. Like an actor’s headshot, it should show you at your best, but it’s more about authenticity than range.
Your business headshot should present you as professional, approachable, and relatable - your wonderful, real self. 📸
Whether you’re stepping onto a stage or into an office, the right headshot helps you make that first impression count.
